It's good to be gub'mint.

I went to the Post Office today to mail a letter. I got there at 9:15, not long after they opened. The parking lot was empty and the building was empty except for five employees. One was at the other end of the room doing something with PO boxes, one was doing something with a till, and the other three were leaning against the counter talking.

I had to buy stamps so I went to the signpost to wait for someone at the counter to help me. All five of the employees looked at me but NOT ONE made a move to help me. No one greeted me, no one smiled at me, no one even acknowledged I was there.

You guys, I stood there for at least five minutes while the guy with the till kept right on doing whatever he was doing and the other three employees in the room continued with their conversation about a movie they'd all seen.

Finally, someone else came out of the back and sold me my stamps.

What private company would EVER run their business this way? One that would quickly be out of business, that's for sure.
